Engaging the Multigenerational Workforce for WSH Professionals

Synopsis

Acknowledging and managing people from diverse backgrounds was once a common struggle to many companies. However, the current trend at workplace now is managing a multigenerational team as different generations have different mental models. In order to enhance performance and productivity, understanding different characteristics of each generation is vital to a positive and holistic workplace.

This workshop describes the common characteristics of the four main generations in the workforce – the Traditionalists, Baby Boomers, Generation X, and the Millennial Generation. It also introduces the motivations and benefits of cross-generational teams.  

Objectives

At the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:

  1. Appreciate generation differences, their workplace characteristics and their core values
  2. Learn the different types of generations and how others view them
  3. Learn expectations from different generations and the different needs and wants
  4. Understand how different generation works differently and how it affects the workplace
